For Your Hair System

Cleaning your hair system

You can wash your hair system in the shower with shampoo and conditioner. We recommend washing a couple of times a week. Too much shampooing can dry a hair system out. You will need to use high-moisture, sulphate-free shampoos and conditioners.

Use a stroking motion to wash, do not massage your system as this can weaken the knots.

We can show you the best way to wash when you are in the salon.

What to avoid when wearing a hair system

There is really not much that you can’t do while wearing a hair system. You can head a football, run a marathon, scream on a rollercoaster, or go for a dip in the North Sea. Perhaps the only thing you can’t do is spend too much time in direct sunshine without a hat.

The sun bleaches and fades hair, even our natural hair is effected by UV bleaching. Therefore we recommend covering your hair with a hat whilst in the sun to avoid UV damage and discolouration to the system.

Hairdryers and straighteners

Another thing you should avoid is applying too much heat to the system. The heat from hairdryers and hair straighteners can damage the hair system over time. If you use a straightener, move quickly and use as infrequently as possible. Applying intense heat to wet hair is particularly damaging.
